Student Wisdom

Our students are learning every day about the importance of helping those less-fortunate in our community. These lessons of kindness and compassion can be seen in their thoughts they have shared. We hope that their actions always reflect the generous spirit that we work so hard to inspire.

At first, it was about earning service hours for school..... but then I realized how much I could help out people in my own community. It feels good to make a difference.

Giving others a helping hand when they need it is important and makes me feel good inside.

Prior to meeting with Lauren Kormanick, a representative from Interfaith Housing Alliance, I was unaware of how much they do for the homeless people in close proximity to where I live. When Lauren explained what they go through on a daily basis, I was able to comprehend how much support the organization provides. The snack bags we assembled were only a small part of it. It was interesting to learn about how Interfaith helps these families in their transition out of homelessness. They offer educational classes and help people become more independent. I now understand the necessity of this charity and am excited to help them.

I really enjoy doing the sock rolls. It makes me feel like I am helping my community and that is very important to me.
